When you hang with dogs...you get killed like a dog...Plain and simple!A southwest suburban girl who was shot in the head early Saturday while inside a vehicle on the South Side has died, authorities said.
Taylor Diorio, 17, of the 10800 block of Major Avenue in Chicago Ridge, was pronounced dead at 3:29 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The victim was shot in the head at 5:05 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 35th Street while she was inside a vehicle with others, said police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
“An unknown male offender shot into the vehicle,’’ Baety said. No one else inside the vehicle was wounded.
The driver told police she was westbound on 35th Street while Diorio was seated in the front passenger seat when they and three other people in the car heard 4-5 gunshots and realized Diorio had been shot in the head, according to a police report.
Another female in the car jumped out and fled in an unknown direction while the motorist drove Diorio to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the report.
Police were investigating an allegation that the gunman and someone in the car might have had an earlier altercation.
No arrests have been made Saturday night and Area Central detectives are investigating, Beaty said.
