Sneed hears U.S. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., whom Sneed exclusively disclosed was being treated at the Mayo Clinic, has considered pulling the plug on his political career.
“He’s thought about it,” said a Sneed source familiar with Jackson’s sorry state, suffering from depression and stomach disorders.
“He’s thought about a lot of things and is very aware his re-election bid is in November. He is under intense pressure to make a statement personally about his situation.”
Meanwhile, Jackson’s wife, Ald. Sandi Jackson, is under intense pressure to get back to work.
“Sandi, who is smart and incredibly warm and charming, knows it’s the Jackson’s family name and power which netted her the aldermanic job. And the back and fourth trips the couple was making between Chicago and Washington was hard on their family life,” said the source. “Jesse also knows he’s got to step up to the plate with the kids.”
