Gary Indiana Police Officer David Finley, Jr. to face federal drug trafficking charges

DATELINE - Gary, IN - A Gary police officer was arrested today after he was charged with drug trafficking and a firearm violation, federal prosecutors said.

David Finley Jr., 31, of Merrillville, was charged with distribution of cocaine and making a straw purchase of a firearm, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's office of Northern Indiana.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the FBI and Gary Police Department, the release said.

Finley appeared this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Andrew Rodovich and was taken into custody, according to the release.

His next court appearance was scheduled fo Aug. 17 at 2:15 p.m., officials said.

I was shocked and outraged that this could happen in Gary. Chicago yes but Gary no.

Wow Gary has such a clean track record I am shocked this went on with out setting off bells and whistles.....next thing you know the state wil be serving search warrants on them for unsolved homicide cases and finding 10 year old rape kits that were never submitted. Wait.....

Sorry to see this crime and corruption in Chicago's "Sister" City, Gary, Indiana. They need to re-establish "Chicago" Values.

I know this officer n his family and these allegations r bogus He has never sold drugs n he would not jeopardize his family by doing so instead of judging him u should pray for his small three children
