Chicago Cops exchange shots with gunman who critically wounded a woman, 47

Chicago police officers who happened upon a driveby shooting on the city's South Side exchanged shots with a gunman who critically wounded a 47-year-old woman, authorities said.

The officers saw the gunman firing shots from a car in the 6700 block of South Blackstone Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said, citing early reports.

One of the shots struck a woman in the head and the car, an Oldsmobile sedan, fled to 68th Street where it crashed, police said.

The gunman bailed out of the car and exchanged gunfire with police, but no one was struck, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The gunman fled on foot and remained on the loose this morning, police said. Police took the Oldsmobile's driver into custody police said. Police also recovered weapons inside the car.

Shoulda executed the 'Nog on the spot instead of taking him into custody. His partner tried killing the cops, therefore he is just as guilty of attempted murder. Point. Shoot. Repeat until the threat is eliminated.

Used to be pretty rare you would come upon a shooting in progress even in the Ghetto. Now it goes on every day. And then the Thugs have the nerve to shoot at us because they are pissed we are interfering in their dirty work. Times have changed.
