Circumstantial case means it could be hard to convict Drew Peterson - ACTUALLY MORE LIKE IMPOSSIBLE

They have no eyewitnesses, no confession and no DNA to show ex-Bolingbrook cop Drew Peterson killed Kathleen Savio — only disputed secondhand statements and conflicting autopsy reports.

That limited, sometimes contradictory, circumstantial evidence means Will County prosecutors are going to have a hard time convincing jurors the now 58-year-old Peterson murdered his third wife, legal experts say.

“I think it’s really going to be tough for the state,” said attorney Paul DeLuca, a former prosecutor in Cook and DuPage counties now in private practice.

“The prosecution is going to have an uphill fight,” agreed Sam Amirante, who defended serial killer John Wayne Gacy and later served as a Cook County judge.

Perhaps the biggest hurdle for prosecutors is that Savio’s 2004 bathtub drowning death — which occurred while she still was fighting with her ex-husband over their finances — initially was ruled an accident.

It was only after Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, vanished in October 2007 that her death was re-examined and, after a new autopsy of her remains, labeled a homicide.

Drew is a POS but he will probably walk. But how many murderers in the state actually do even 4 or 5 years before getting paroled. Should be an interesting case.

As shown below, Scott Peterson was convicted on circumstantial evidence:

Via Wikipedia:
Members of the jury stated in later press appearances that they felt that Peterson's demeanor – specifically, his lack of emotion and the phone calls to Amber Frey in the days following Laci's disappearance – indicated he was guilty. They based their verdict on "hundreds of small 'puzzle pieces' of circumstantial evidence that came out during the trial, from the location of Laci Peterson's body to the myriad lies her husband told after her disappearance." They also decided on the death penalty because they felt Peterson betrayed his responsibility to protect his wife and son.

If it happened to Scott, then why not Drew too?

It is only what it is. If I stopped the Sgt. I would ask him to get a cup of tea because his grief is effecting his driving (veh & name ck) extend my condolences and send him on his way gently.

but! If I had an AIR TIGHT CASE with A TRUCK NEEDED TO transport the pristine evidence! I would very carefully yin him over to a COOK COUNTY JUDGE STATES ATTORNEY AND A JURY to FUK up the case beyond all recognition and let him do it again.

I like parking tickets, co-combatants /mutual offenders and victims, revoked with no in. (sober) but: no one Tries to hurt a Cop or a senior or a child and any one that's handicapped physically. or mentally.

Before they get to county they will be every opportunity to try to resist or escape if not they will be given two or three PD's and ASA'S FOOD,MEDICAL IF NEEDED AND EVEN THE MORNING PAPER! After 20 or 40 years MAYBE a birthday card?

How is circumstantial evidence able to provide beyond all reasonable doubt???

I gave Drew the benefit of the doubt, how many missing wives? Well it happens with the ungrateful bitches!

Enough of Blue Barrels to go around!

But when I read it was EX Chicago Police Office and Rat Extraordinaire, Alex “Mack Daddy” Morelli who signed the will that showed up a year after her bath tub accident I changed my bet.

Inquiring Minds want to know

Obama wants Drew to be convicted and sentenced to life. Maybe then Obama won't be afraid anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Peterson is tried and found innocent due to lack of ANY physical evidence, and then later the body and physical evidence linked to Drew Peterson is recovered, am I correct that Drew will NOT be able to be re-tried , due to that being Doublle-Jeopardy ?

About the "Mack Daddy" said...

So I guess “ex” Chicago Police Officer and rat extraordinaire Alex Morelli, now a Bolingbrook Officer, and Drew’s best partner in crime will probably be called to testify as he was also called to testify at the Grand Jury in Will County.

The same Alex Morelli who ratted out other coppers at the CPD District 025 to deflect the Feds from his improprieties, and signature to the will of Drew's wife who “drowned” in the bath tub?

“The will that turned up over a year after she drowned in the bath tub and hand written on note book paper.”

Hey Alex, still do you still have that full length Raccoon Coat with matching Coon hat you bought shortly after one of your big scores back when you were in the CPD and the 025th district?

Nothing like looking like a Mack Daddy even if you were white!

You're wrong. You don't even have the right victim. Consider yourself corrected.

Really. Do you even understand the shit you post?

Anonymous said...

Correct, he cannot be tried for the same crime twice. Thats why they are better off not pursuing the case, at this time, based on insufficient evidence.

I kind of want to see this guy walk just because I hate the shit-bums that run Will county. Their blatant corruption makes Chicago's look like child's play.

With stupid fucking jurors.
most just want to hurry up, so they can catch Jerry springer episodes.

I am no Drew Peterson fan. He is a scumbag extraordnaire.
what troubles me is that the government can retro-actively create a law and apply it to Peterson.
No person can be safe when Government can charge and prosecute a person in this manner.
Hear-say evidence is unreliable.
I beleive he is going to be found innocent and sue Will County and win large $$$$$$$$$$
