Cicero police shoot suspect during chase - 1300 South 57th Court

Cicero police shot a male about 7 p.m. after he ran from a gang fight and pointed a gun at officers, a town official said.

Gang members scattered from a gang fight after police arrived to the scene near 13th Street and 56th Court in Cicero, Town spokesman Ray Hanania said.

Cops chased one of the suspects about a block and the male, whose age wasn’t available, turned and pointed his weapon at the officers, Hanania said.

Police shot him near 13th Street and 57th Court, and he was reported in critical condition at Loyola Hospital.

Police recovered a weapon at the scene, and Illinois State Police are now handling the investigation, Hanania said.

Detective SL;

As hot as things are, we need two things:

1) A reprise of Sweet Georgia Brown "I got bronchitis".
2) A few Karen Carpenter tunes. The dueling drum solos are classic.

Keep up the good work.
