When more than 3 colored folks get together...Nothing good becomes of it!
A 20-year-old man was shot in the arm Sunday at the South Street Seaport by a man celebrating on a party bus, witnesses and officials said.
The party bus, full of friends celebrating college graduation, had stopped at the waterfront tourist hot spot about 2:30 a.m.
Two women got into a shouting match, and the fight escalated into rival unruly groups confronting each other on the promenade in front of Pier 17, under the elevated roadway of the FDR drive, witnesses said.
One man from the group on the bus pulled out a hand gun and squeezed off four rounds towards the group on the pier, striking the 20 year-old man in his arm, according to a police source.
“It was crazy,” said the bus driver, who declined to give his name.
“One of the kids went nuts and started firing and he hit somebody.”
The victim was taken to Bellevue hospital in stable condition, officials said.
The shooter retreated onto the bus and dumped the handgun into a woman’s purse, the police source said.
Cops detained everybody on the bus, operated by RJ's Limousines of Wantagh, L.I., and recovered the gun and marijuana during a search of the vehicle, sources said. The bus company did not get paid by the party goers.
