For over 30 years three negro cop killers lived the high life off free welfare and more... At least now they are going to spend the rest of their lives behind bars...
CROWN POINT, Ind.— Three men are charged with murder in the 1980 slaying of an off-duty Hammond police officer after a bag used during the botched robbery attempt was linked to other incidents.
Larry Mayes, 62, of Portage and James Hill, 49, of Gary were being held Saturday at the Lake County Jail in Crown Point.
The third man charged, 62-year-old Pierre Catlett of Harvey, Ill., remained at large.
On Nov. 14, 1980, Officer Larry Pucalik was working security at the Holiday Inn in Hammond when two men pulled handguns, placed a denim bag on the counter and ordered the clerk to put all of the money from the cash register into the bag.
