Authorities are investigating two separate bank robberies today, one on the Far Southwest Side and one in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Most recently, the North Community Bank branch in the 2700 block of West Belmont Avenue was robbed at 1:22 p.m. by a male who fled in a black car with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Officer Robert Perez, a police spokesman.
The robber was last seen westbound on Henderson Street in the car, which was “possibly a Nissan Altima,’’ Perez said. No one was injured. A full description of the suspect was not immediately available.
An earlier heist happened this morning at the Charter One Bank branch at 11150 S. Western Ave., according to the FBI.
A man wearing a dark-colored bandana over his face, a dark-colored shirt and a black baseball cap entered the bank and robbed it, according to the FBI.
The robber, who was black with a large build, appeared to be in his 20s or 30s and stood 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-5. At 1:30 p.m. agents remained on the scene on Western Avenue, according to FBI spokesman Ross Rice, who did not know if the man was armed.
Anyone with information on either robbery should contact the FBI, 312-421-6700.

Masked Colored Robber robs Charter One Bank branch at 11150 S. Western Ave - Northside bank also hit....
Just because a black man wearing a bandana over 1/2 his face is walking into a white bank in Beverly...you should NOT profile this man as a robber! God forbid we have a Trayvon Martin incident in Chicago! Just because colored folks are responsible for over 90% of the bank robberies, shootings and murders in the city...DON'T RACIAL PROFILE!
