It's truly getting crazier out there - Woman hospitalized after trading shots with Westmont police
A woman was injured after a shooting incident between her and police early Friday afternoon in west suburban Westmont, police said.
The woman, identified only as being 45 years old, was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to a press release from Chief Thomas Mulhearn of the Westmont Police Department. Her condition was not known.
No one else was injured in the incident, which began when Westmont police were called to a single-family home in the 300 block of South Lincoln Street about 1:37 p.m. after receiving a report about a woman with a gun there, the release said. At the home, police "confronted" a woman, who was armed with a handgun, in the back yard of the home and shots were fired, both by the police and the woman, the release said.
