Chicago Police: Lincoln Park / 1700 North Vine - Reported barricade situation ends, no one inside

A nearly 4-hour-long standoff ended peacefully this afternoon after police found no one inside a Lincoln Park residence where a man was thought to have been holed up.

“There was no evidence anyone was being held against their will,’’ said police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.

No one was inside the residence in the 1700 block of North Vine Street either, according to Baety, who said SWAT members and multiple Chicago Police personnel secured the area about 2 p.m.

Bet you it was on the WEST side of Vine St. where the Amish live in Section 8. The east side of Vine is yuppies.

Just curious, in the photo it shows a uniform officer with a rifle slung guarding the perimeter and doing traffic control. You can see swat was already on scene in the background of the photo. Did he think swat was going to tap him in?
