AND WHO GETS A NEW 1/2 BILLION DOLLAR EL TRAIN ROUTE? THE COLORED FOLKS ON THE SOUTH SIDE AS USUAL.... RED LINE TO SHUT DOWN FOR 1/2 A YEAR

Maybe the corrupt Ald. Beale and his stealing wife can also threaten the CTA that violence will occur if more blacks aren't hired for this construction project...like he just did to the METRA Transit System....

The south branch of the CTA Red Line, one of the busiest on the system, will be shut down for five months next spring for a massive track overhaul, officials announced on Monday.

Once completed, the $425 million project will result in faster service along the line, which was built back in the late 1960s and is in desperate need of an upgrade, the CTA said. The line is called the Dan Ryan branch because it runs down the middle of the expressway.

With new tracks that will be able to better accommodate the new 5000-Series ‘L’ cars that are being put into service, the CTA said the travel time between 95th Street and Chinatown will be 10 minutes faster once the work is done.

CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine reports the move will also save approximately $75 million, which will be used to renovate Red Line stations on the South Side.

He doesn't have to. The majority of the funding here is from state money. The state has set aside over 20% for minority contracts. Bobby Rush is already saying there better be minority contracts. The Englewood Flyover project that Beale bitched about last week is a Federal project and does not allow the minority set asides. Know this...any work started by black contractors will have to be completed or fixed by white contractors. Fact. Many minority contractors are fraudsters who know nothing about the jobs they are hired to complete.

So basically, this cuts the travel time down about 10 minutes for all the black bastards that hitch the Red Line to come downtown to rob, pillage, plunder and act like savages in general.

$425 million for the project. $75 million "saved" to be used for upgrades to Red Line stations on the Souff Side. BUT NO CASH TO FUND YOUR CPD PENSIONS!!

Keep hustling out there, CPD. There really IS going to be a "Hail Mary" down the road sometime where all your worries about retirement will be solved...NOT!

That's the citys plan to cut down on summer violence....some of the savages will still drive/bus it down there but a majority of the shines, especially the younger ones will be stuck on the Southside for the summer. Since Rahm doesn't care about the savages or can simply throw money at them to shut up, all the killing robbing and raping they do in their own shithole won't seem like the plan backfired to him as it will to us.

Saw this on Ch. 5 news. During interview with a spook rider, fat bitch stated it was to keep the minorities from getting to their jobs in the city. That they were limiting the minorities job opportun ities, by shutting down the red line.

From the 1890s through 1968, south side travel consisted of bus routes and/or the Englewood or Jackson Park 'L' rapid transit lines, which terminated at 63rd St.

At the various 63rd St. stops, one connected to various Chicago Surface Lines (CSL) [succeeded by CTA], South Suburban Safeway Lines (SSL)or (southwest) Suburban Transit buses.

In 1969, the above mentioned commutes changed, with the debut of the Dan Ryan 'L' terminating at 95th St. Thus, 32 blocks (or 4 miles) were shaved off the bus commute.

If the 1890s-1968 commuters could travel long routes, then surely the 5 month 2013 commuters can do the same via CTA and Pace.
