Momma spent all her goverment babysitting money on blunts & booze - Leaves toddler in hot car as she worked
A young mother charged with leaving her 2-year-old child alone in her vehicle while she was at work in Glenview early this morning is being investigated by the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services, authorities said.
The mother, part of the cleaning crew at a movie theater, told police she could not afford a babysitter for the toddler. A member of the cleaning crew checked on the child every 15 or 20 minutes, the mother told police.
"Leaving a child in a car for any length of time threatens their health and safety," said Kendall Marlowe, a spokesman for the child welfare agency. "There is no appropriate length of time of appropriate distance from the parent for leaving a child in an automobile."
