Tank the 5-year-old Pomeranian has quite a tale to tell.
What began as a leisurely cruise on his owner's 20-foot powerboat on the Chicago River Sunday turned into an odyssey after the pooch slipped off the boat and became lost in the murky water.
Tank was wearing a bright yellow life vest, so Mark and Linn Lewis held out some hope. But after searching more than seven hours Sunday into Monday along the banks of the river, the couple from St. Charles feared they would not see their beloved dog again.
Then media outlets began airing stories of Tank's plight and the calls started coming in.
