2 colored folks held after shots fired near Chicago Police headquarters

Two men are in custody after police said they fired shots at two people near police headquarters in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side Friday afternoon.

A Chicago Police bike unit officer on patrol heard shots being fired as he was in the area of 36th Street and Michigan Avenue about 3:20 p.m. and “called it out,’’ according to a Wentworth District police sergeant.

Multiple officers responded and took two men into custody who are believed to be the shooters, the sergeant said.

No one was wounded and the intended victims ran away.
