PHILADELPHIA - Two Philadelphia firefighters were killed when a wall collapsed on them while they fought a massive warehouse fire in Philadelphia early Monday morning.
Five firefighters were inside a furniture store adjacent to the vacant warehouse when a wall collapse trapped them, fire officials said.
Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers identified the killed firefighters as Lt. Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney. Neary, 60, officials said, was preparing to retire; Sweeney, 25, was new to the fire department.
