Two Chicago Police Squad Cars Smash Into Each Other Responding To A 10-1

Two Chicago police cars collided with each other Saturday morning on the West Side, authorities said. The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. when two cars were responding to a call to help another, at 1500 South Homan.

No word on any of the officers condition at this time. We wish them well.

As they say over and over and over again.

Your no good if you don't get there.

Respond as quickly as safety allows, but don't get yourself killed. More police on the streets are what's needed, and if the job keeps getting done, nobody will ever get hired.

I hope the officers are OK.

Sorry for asking, but what's a 10-1? It sounds like what we called an "Officer needs help" call...

These nonstop "raps" we get into all the time indicate we are doing our jobs, the problem is that there are not enough of us to handle the jobs because too many come in for us to handle. 1A jobs not getting dispatched because there are no available units to dispatch for 10 or 20 minutes is unacceptable.

This was NOT a 10-1! I was there.

What this was happened to be 2 officers making the last mad dash to the same Dunkin Donuts for the last fresh run of Apple Fritters.

THERE WAS NO 10-1

It's when ten male officers need to help out one female officer who just had her nails done!
