Corruption Tax - Cook County Property taxes have risen twice the rate of inflation, or 48% during the last ten years
CHICAGO, IL - It's no surprise that property taxes have been going up a lot in the last ten years, but the Heartland Institute is out with a new report saying that in Cook County they've risen twice the rate of inflation, or 48% during the last ten years.
Andy Shaw of the Better Governement Association says, maybe we have too much government,
"We have four mosquito abatement districts in Cook County. If I'm a mosquito, I am flattered that people are paying so much attention to me. If I'm a taxpayer I am furious that we have this many separate units of government to handle a task like mosquitos."
