Police shoot man with rifle in the once quiet Westmont suburb

A 53-year-old Westmont man was shot in the leg by police early this morning after the man pointed something that looked like a rifle in the direction of officers, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with non-life threatening injuries, Westmont Police Chief Thomas Mulhearn said in a press release. He said the incident occurred while police were responding to an alleged domestic dispute in the 300 block of South Lincoln Street at 12:16 a.m.

.....the man was asked to exit the home to talk with officers. After doing so, carrying a "black object that appeared to be a rifle.....

Between 2000 and 2010, Westmont's White population decreased by 6%, while its black and spic population increased by 9%. Fuckin' lovely.
