I'll keep my fingers crossed in the hopes this happens to a lot more SunTimes and Tribune columnists.

Dan, did anyone put a gun to your head and make you come over here for a visit? If the answer is no, then press that white X in the red box to get out of here.

Anon: No, nobody put a gun to my head and made me come over here for a visit. Just stopped by on my way to the grocery story to have a look. This is not the America I grew up in. That's all i wanted to say as I leave and close the door, gently. I grew up in western Mass in the 1950s and 60s, a great time to be an American and rejoice in our collective sense of our nation at one nation, under God, indivible and open to all. I left the USA in 1991 never to come back and this blog's comments above here are part of the reason why. I cry for thee, America. Sigh. Danny Bloom, 1949-2032.

The only thing that would make me happier if Danny Bloom changed that 2032 to 2012.

Dear Anon, actually ''danny bloom'' died long ago and your reply here is more evidence of how sick and ugly America has become because of ugly Americans like you. America was once a great nation. now.....you? Forget danny, he is dead, he is just a pen name. You are the real danger here. but sadly you will live for a long time and your kids will be just like you. YUCK.
